Found Not Taken is an ongoing series of photographs of objects found on the streets of Luanda, Angola, Newport, Wales and London, UK; cities where the artist has lived and worked. In his series, Found Not Taken (–ongoing), Edson Chagas creates abstract compositions from everyday scenes. Capturing a battered football in front of a crumbling cobalt façade or a defunct satellite dish lying prone on an inclined street, his photographs often conjure the vibrant palette of color-field painting. For Found Not Taken, Chagas walked through the streets of Luanda, London and Newport, collecting discarded objects and moving them, at times slightly. In his series, Found Not Taken (2008–ongoing), Edson Chagas creates abstract compositions from everyday scenes.
